SURF & TURF IN THE EBRO DELTA!

Not too far and yet a touch of tropical! From any airport in Europe it is a relatively short flight to the airport of Barcelona or Reus. From these airports it is respectively a 2 and 1 hour drive to the Ebro delta with a rental car. And then you can just catch a bluefin tuna of 100 kilos + or a catfish of 2 metres + ! Who doesn't want that? Here it's all possible. The Ebro delta offers a true fishing paradise where you can go both individually and under supervision for a wonderful fishing holiday.

Here you decide yourself where and how you want to fish and you don't have to share the boat with others. The fishing here is varied because you can fish on both fresh and salt water. You can go here for a long list of interesting fish including: catfish, sea bass, garrick, bluefish, mullet, bluefin tuna, albacore, mahi mahi, mackerel, amberjack, bonito and little tuny.

The immense bluefin tuna is a highly wanted catch and in spring they are regularly caught by lure as these violent massive beasts hunt the baitfish that gather in large swarms. In the autumn they often chum and try to lure the fish up from the depths of about 50 to 75 metres.

The salty water flows up to 25 kilometres inland into the river. Depending on the season, mullets and sea bass are still caught as far inland as the Ebro estuary, but catfish are also regularly caught up to the Ebro estuary. This is because salt water is heavier than fresh water, resulting in the peculiar phenomenon that the same stretch of river has both salty and sweet water. In principle it is therefore possible to catch catfish and garrick, sea bass or bluefish mixed together!

This location is often praised for the very varied fishing that is possible, but that is not the only benefit. After all, the many species of fish that can be caught here also become absurdly large! Many guests therefore choose to go not 1 but 2 weeks.

We have various accommodation options from three star hotels to private apartments with swimming pool. The choice is wide and there is something for everyone. Because this location is also great for partners who think fishing is not so interesting but can appreciate the sun.

In Riumar itself we have the possibility to provide several apartments. These have a minimum of 2 bedrooms, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen and a courtyard. They all provide a good level and some apartments / houses also have their own parking space and or swimming pool.

In the village itself there is a small supermarket where you can get the most basic groceries and there are also two restaurants where you can get a good meal for a reasonable price. There is also a fishing shop where you can get fresh bait as ragworms to fish from the shore. For extensive shopping you have to drive to Deltebre.

In terms of hotels we work with the Rull hotel in Deltebre. An excellent and well maintained three star hotel at 10 minutes drive from the departure location for the fishingboats. The rooms are neat and breakfast is included. In Deltebre you can also enjoy a good meal in one of the local restaurants in the evening. Slightly further towards the fishing location you will find the Delta hotel, which is also three stars well maintained and breakfast is included.

The tourist tax has to be paid in cash on the spot. That is a small amount of around 10 euros per person for a week.

R 190 ROBALO

Robalo R190 CC. Open boat American international prestige. 6.3 metres long and 2.4 metres wide with a fuel tank of 237 liters, 14 rod holders, live bait bun, fishfinder, new Mercury F 150 hp EFI PRO 4t engine with impressive speed and low power consumption. Approved for up to 8 people but can be best fished with a maximum of 4. Lowrance multifunctional GPS equipped with GEN. Marine phone with DSC, insurance, and all necessary licenses including a collective fishing license.

QUICKSILVER 505 ACTIV

The boat is 5.05 metres long and 2.12 metres wide. There is a 50 hp Mercury. 4-stroke mounted with low consumption and excellent performance. Sonda-Plotter, mats, 10 rod holders on bow, stern and console. Of course all safety equipment, insurances, licenses and fishing licenses are present.

Whaly 435 R

Whaly 435 R 4.35 metres length and 1.73 metres wide with Mercury 15 HP 4-stroke engine with electronic ignition and steering wheel, handrails and fishfinder. They are unsinkable boats and approved for 6 people. We recommend to fish with a maximum of 2 people. No boating license is required to sail with these boats. All insurances and all safety devices are included.

When you book a fishing day with a guide, all angling equipment is included in the price. Depending on the fishing there are several options available, but in any case the equipment is excellent: Shimano Tiagra of 16 to 80 lbs but also Daiwa Saltiga, Dogfight and Temple Reef are well known and good materials.

If you want go fishing without a guide, you have to bring your own equipment. Because of the varied fishing it is advisable not to restrict yourself with regard to materials.

The season actually runs all year round. Temperatures in the summer are of course higher and sometimes be above 35º C. In the winter it is wise to bring a windbreaker, because at 20º C it can feel considerably colder. It is a perfect destination, for example, to spend the summer with the family and go fishing for a few days. However, many guests also choose to spend a long weekend in the Ebro delta in spring or autumn. You can go fishing all year round and of course every season has its peculiarities. And for all our fishing trips, we create a tailor-made package for you.

The choice of flights is huge. Almost any airline flies to Barcelona or Reus airport. From the airport we provide a rental car and within two hours drive you are in the Ebro Delta. You can off course drive there yourself. A beautiful and well-kept four-person apartment or hotel then offers accommodation in Riumar throughout the week.

Food and drinks on a self-care basis

With 4 people, this fishing trip by plane and rental car the lowest price is from € 1.295, - per person during low season. When fishing with a guide you have your private boat where no other anglers will join in and you when decide what you want to fish for. This is a big difference compared to other providers in this area. If you go here by car yourself you can go from € 1250, - per person.
