Experience the Ultimate Amazon Adventure. Imagine the rush of battling a colossal freshwater predator — its immense body surging through the water, fighting every inch for freedom. This is the extraordinary thrill that awaits when you join an Arapaima fishing expedition deep in the Amazon Rainforest. Known locally as Paiche or Pirarucu, the Arapaima is one of the world’s largest freshwater fish, reaching up to 8 feet in length and over 400 pounds in weight. Beyond its sheer size, it’s famed for its explosive power and unstoppable fighting spirit — making it a dream catch for any angler.

With this trip you will have the chance to target these magnificent giants using both lures and flies, each offering its own unique and challenging experience. While the Arapaima is the undisputed crown jewel, the Amazon offers much more. You’ll also encounter fierce Peacock Bass, razor-toothed Payara, powerful Redtail Catfish, and a host of other exotic species — each one ready to test your skill and strength.

Various types of fishing boats are used at this location. These are flat-bottomed boats and local fishing boats of around 16 feet, which are sailed by local guides. Because arapaima are extremely shy fish, the outboard motor is turned off during fishing and the boat is propelled solely by paddle. This means the fish are less likely to be scared off, greatly increasing your chances of catching them.

You will fish with two people per boat and one guide who will do everything possible to help you catch the best and biggest fish.

A list of recommended equipment will be provided with your travel documents. You must bring your own equipment on this fishing trip. It is not possible to hire or purchase equipment locally.
