Einset Seafishing is located on Aspøya, along the sheltered coast south of Kristiansund. The area combines accessible coastal and fjord fishing with the option of reaching deeper water quickly when conditions allow. The resort sits on the protected side of Aspøya, while deeper fishing grounds are only around fifteen minutes away by boat. This makes Einset an excellent choice for anglers who do not want to depend entirely on open-sea conditions throughout the week, but still want serious fishing within easy reach.
The fishing around Aspøya is attractive because of its variety. Close to shore you can target coalfish, cod, flatfish and sea trout. On the deeper marks farther offshore, the fishing becomes more technical and the chance of larger fish increases. The transition from sheltered coastal water to deeper ground gives groups the flexibility to adapt each fishing day to the wind, current and experience of the crew.

For anglers, that variety is one of Einset’s main strengths. In the sheltered areas, light spinning rods and pilkers can be used to actively search for coalfish and cod. Around drop-offs, channels and harder bottom structure, natural bait, shads and pilkers are effective choices. The coast around Aspøya also offers opportunities for shorter shore-based or inshore sessions, so even arrival and departure days can still produce fish.

Main target species

Coalfish is one of the most exciting sport fish around Einset. It often hunts actively through the water column, making it ideal for energetic fishing with pilkers, shads and fast-worked lures. When baitfish are present, coalfish can provide explosive takes and powerful runs.

Cod is a key target species in this part of Norway. It can be found around bottom structure, drop-offs and deeper water. For groups that like to alternate between pilking and shad fishing, cod is a reliable quarry, especially when the boat drifts cleanly across productive ground.

Flatfish add a more relaxed style of fishing to the Einset experience. Natural bait fished over sandy or mixed ground can produce enjoyable catches. This type of fishing is ideal for families or anglers who want to mix serious sea fishing with a calmer session now and then.

Sea trout are also a worthwhile target in spring and autumn, when the water is cooler. This adds another appealing dimension to the destination. Light tackle can be great sport along transition zones, shallow coastal stretches and areas with current, especially for anglers who enjoy active lure fishing from the shore or boat.

Sheltered and accessible

One of Einset’s major advantages is that the fishing is not all about long runs offshore. The boats are located around 250 metres from the houses and the area is well suited to coastal and inshore fishing. This makes the destination practical for mixed groups, families and anglers who do not want long boat journeys every day. In good weather, however, it is easy to head farther out towards deeper water where the chances of larger fish and additional species increase.

Einset is not only a destination for dedicated anglers. There are walking routes in the surrounding area as well as activities such as diving and kayaking.
