Fishing

Hasvåg Fiske 24 is located on the coast near Hårstad in Hasvåg, in the municipality of Flatanger. Among sea anglers, this region is well known as an excellent base for reaching the productive offshore banks outside Flatanger. Its location gives you the best of both worlds: sheltered fjord waters close by, while the run to wider, more open water remains short when conditions are favourable.
For anglers, this mainly means flexibility. In calm weather you can head offshore, where deeper water, current and underwater banks offer excellent chances of larger fish. When conditions become rougher, the fjord provides a more sheltered alternative. That combination makes Hasvåg Fiske 24 ideal for anglers who want serious fishing without being completely dependent on offshore conditions.

Character of the fishing area

The waters around Flatanger consist of coastal areas, fjord arms, islands, skerries and transitions towards the open Atlantic. These zones are especially interesting because fish often hold along the edges between shallow coastal water and deeper water. Cod and coalfish actively hunt baitfish around drop-offs, banks and current seams. In rockier areas and around bottom structure there are also good opportunities for redfish and ling-type species, depending on depth and season.
For anglers who enjoy actively searching for fish, this is a very attractive area. The chartplotter helps you locate edges, depressions and plateaus, while the fishfinder can reveal baitfish and activity close to the bottom. The short run to the fishing grounds makes it easy to try several spots in a single day, from sheltered areas to more open water.

Main target species

Cod is one of the key target species in this region. During the early and late season it is often found around changes in depth, current seams and areas where baitfish are concentrated. Cod can be targeted actively with pirks and shads, or fished more deliberately close to the bottom.

Coalfish is the species for anglers who enjoy fast-paced action. When baitfish are present, coalfish can feed aggressively throughout the water column. Light to medium lure tackle, fast retrieves and careful use of the fishfinder can produce spectacular sessions.
Redfish require a different approach. They are generally targeted in deeper water and call for accurate depth control, often using natural bait or smaller presentations. Their presence makes this destination especially interesting for anglers who enjoy technical bottom fishing alongside active lure fishing.

Halibut is also a realistic dream target in the wider region. Targeted halibut fishing requires patience, an understanding of sandy or mixed-bottom areas, and a slow presentation with large lures or baitfish. Flatanger and the surrounding waters offer plenty of structure and transition zones to fish effectively when conditions are right.

Sheltered fishing and offshore fishing

One of the major advantages of Hasvåg Fiske 24 is that you are not entirely dependent on the open sea. The fjord offers good shelter when offshore conditions become too rough. This can mean more fishable days and makes the destination more accessible for groups with mixed levels of experience. At the same time, the open ocean remains close, allowing keen sea anglers to make the most of the famous fishing banks off Flatanger whenever the weather allows.

Why choose Hasvåg Fiske 24?
  • Short run to the open sea and the well-known fishing grounds around Flatanger.
  • Sheltered fjord fishing when wind and sea conditions deteriorate.
  • Excellent base for cod, coalfish, redfish, haddock and potentially halibut.
  • Apartments close to the water, with the boats moored at the jetty.
  • Well suited to small groups, couples and anglers looking to combine comfort with quality fishing.
