The captain has ample experience in fishing these waters. The fishing techniques that are used here are slow and speed jigging, popping, casting, trolling, bottom fishing and live bait fishing. So there is enough choice for everybody to enjoy a beautiful week of fishing on the Red Sea for targeting species like GTs, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Coral Trouts, Amberjacks, and a lot more. In addition, being an IGFA captain in Egypt, he is also an IGFA world record holder.
Our partner has 4 boats and they are located in different marinas in and around Hurghada in order to diivde the fishing as much as possible across the region for optimal fishing for our guests.

Fishing from Hurghada can be done in two different ways.

1. Shore based trips

If you choose the shore based trips we will book you a comfortable hotel close to the harbour. Every day you will be picked up by the private taxi and you will be transferred to the fishing boat in the harbour. The day starts early around 06.00 hours and you when you return around 17.00 hours you will be back in the harbour. These 11 hours long trips will get the most out of your fishing day. Depending on your desired type of fishing the captain will bring you to the best spots and will assist you where necessary.

2. Live aboard safari trip

In case you want to go on a safari of multiple days you will eat and sleep on the mothership. This boat is 25 metres long and sleeps a maximum of 8 people with 4 bedrooms for each two persons. You can chose to fish only from the mother boat in which case you will be trolling along the reefs and hotspots in the greater Hurghada area. Or if you want to fish more actively you can book the mother boat in combination with one or two of the fishing boats available. During daytime you will fish from the smaller fishing boats who will take you popping and jigging to all hotspots available while the mother boat will move ahead and sail to the next overnight stop where the boats will meet up again.

In the evening the boat will anchor up near a reef or other sheltered spot in the Red Sea and you can keep on fishing from the boat as long as you like for all species around the reef. With this set up you will fish the more remote and best spots in the greater Hurghada area. This is a true adventure you can book as an exciting week-long or more fishing safari to the most beautiful reefs in the Hurghada area. Nice weather, shorts, great boats, strong fish, great food so what do you want more? There are several types of mother boats available that differ in comfort levvel, length and price.

In the greater Hurghada area there are a large number of beautiful reefs and other hotspots where the underwater flora and fauna flourish. The fishing will be a thrill under the guidance of the IGFA certified captain there is a catch & release policy regarding popping and jigging. The types of fish you can catch are dogtooth, yellowfin and skipjack tuna, wahoo, dorado, giant trevally, barracuda, king mackerel, bluefin trevally, coral trout, mahi mahi, amberjack, bohar snapper, moontail grouper etc... Throughout the year there is a good and varied fishery with something for everyone.

Depending on group size and choice of boat, we have several options where you can stay;

1. Royal Palm resort Safaga (close to Reefer X boat)
This is a first class hotel with several restaurants such as Greek, Lebanese Italian and Asian. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and all equipped with aironcidtioning. and private shower/toilet. There is also a private beach, swimming pools and you will want for nothing here.

2. Comfortable 4 star hotel (close to Reefer boat)
Here we use the Bay Hotel Hurghada Marina which offers high quality accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a shared lounge. Other facilities are room service, an ATM, along with free WiFi throughout the entire premises. The hotel has a terrace and city views, and you can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar.

At the hotel all rooms have air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a kitchen, a dining area, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer. The rooms are also equipped with a kettle, while other rooms also offer a balcony and others have sea view. At The Bay Hotel Hurghada Marina all rooms have bed linen and towels included.

3. Seagull Resort is a top-rated 4-star-plus resort, situated on the beautiful Red Sea and right in the heart of Hurghada’s bustling centre (Sakkala). Here, you can not only enjoy a variety of water sports, but also the convenience of shops, cafés and restaurants all within walking distance. For the little ones, there’s a fantastic kids’ club where they can have a great time whilst you relax or get active.

The resort offers a range of facilities, from sports and spa facilities to several buffet and à la carte restaurants. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere in one of the bars or be surprised by the clever serving robot, which serves complimentary All-Inclusive drinks around the pool. 4. Private apartments in Soma Bay (near Reefer XL). Fully furnished, with a living room, several bedrooms and all modern comforts, including air conditioning, bed linen and towels. Accommodates 2 to 8 people, depending on requirements.

5. Fully furnished 4 star apartments (close to Carla boat)
For a comfortable private apartment we work with El Andalous apartments. The apartments provide air-conditioning and a terrace. With free Wifi, the 2-bedroom apartments feature a flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a fully equipped kitchen with a minibar and garden view. Close to the apartments there are several restaurants where you can easily have a nice evening meal after you have returned from fishing. In the garden there is also a swimming pool available as is there also access to a private beach. At the reception you can also ask for beach towels to enjoy one of the swimming areas.

6. Mother boat
If you choose to go on a fishing safari, we have several mother boats that we can arrange for your comfort. One of them, for example, is a 25-meter 5-star boat. This boat is equipped with GPS, fish finder, generator, radio and complete mapping of the Red Sea. The boat has three rooms with 2 single beds each and a suite with a double bed and private bathroom, a shower/toilet combination, 2 Mann 450 HP diesel engines, a spacious foredeck, aft deck, terrace and dining area above deck in the shade. There is also a full kitchen and a good chef so this boat is perfectly equipped to organize a fishing safari of a week or more!

During your stay on the mother boat, all meals, soft drinks, water, coffee and tea are included. On the spacious shaded upper deck, you can relax with a drink after a hard day of fishing and watch the sun go down and admire the stars. The boat is sailed by an experienced captain who knows these waters well.

Other accommodation options are also always possible if you prefer your own flat or otherwise.

Three fishing boats are available for popping and jigging. Equipped with all the desired (safety) equipment, they are perfect for this fishery. They offer maximum fishing comfort due to the walk around construction.

The Reefer is a boat for up to 3 anglers. It is a 20-foot Sea Hunt Triton type walkaround centre console with a Yamaha F150 HP 4-stroke outboard engine. It is equipped with a Simrad NSS Evo 3 Fish Finder, Airmar 1KW Low/High Chirp Transducer, has a live well for baitfish, 27 rod holders and Cannon Down-riggers for optimal trolling. The Reefer X is a boat that fits up to 4 anglers. It is a 27-foot Wahoo EFS type walkaround centre console equipped with two Suzuki F175 HP 4-stroke outboard engines. It features a Simrad Go 9 Fish Finder, a live well for baitfish and Cannon Down-riggers for optimal trolling and 25 rod holders. harbour REl Gouna

The Reefer XL is a 30-foot boat with two Yamaha 200 HP engines. It features a Raymarine Axoim Pro 2 combined with an Aimar 1KW high/low chirp fishfinder. The boat is suitable for up to 4 anglers. Harbour Marina Somabay

Depending on group size and desired boat, we will arrange suitable accommodation in agreement with you.

For this fishing it is possible to bring your own equipment. For popping, a rod of around 2.4 to 2.7 metres and a casting weight from 100 to 200 grams is required to be able to cast the desired distances to the reefs. For jigging a short sturdy boat rod of max 1.8 metre from 30 to 50 lbs is required and max 1.8 metre length. This in combination with a very fast retrieving reel and a sturdy braided line of around 30 kilos of breaking strength. As a leader a 150 lbs shock leader of 1 to 1.3 meters is used.

Next to this heavy equipment it is of course also nice to bring lighter material for example for slow jigging, and lighter jigging and casting rods for chasing smaller types of fish.

If you do not have your own equipment, it is also possible to rent it. The materials used for this are high quality jigging, popper and trolling rods & reels. The reels are Shimano Stella and the rods are high-end Japanese rods. Think Carpenter, Jigging Master, Shimano etc. In addition to this basic set up, you can also use various jigs, poppers, stickbaits, leaders and other terminal tackle at additional cost. Generally one type of fishing is scheduled because the spots for this vary. So you need max 1 set per day. For a 6 day fishing vacation the cost of the rental for 1 person is there for € 300,-.

You have to fly to Hurghada and we can off course arrange that for you. There you will be picked up and brought to the boat or hotel (depending on fishing safari or daytrips) for the first night. On the motherboat you will stay 7 nights with full board and sleep in double rooms. After leaving the harbour in the first morning you can fish 24/7 until you return in Hurghada after 6 days of fishing.

When you are staying in the hotel we can arrange you a halfboard or breakfast-only solution. The choice is up to you. Lunch is served on board the fishing boat. Also we have different options with regard to the level of hotels you can stay in and the price that goes with it.

Both trips can be organized for 2 to 8 anglers. Please note that this is also a perfect location for the partner or the rest of the family to relax on the beach or by the pool at the resort while the fishermen or -women enjoy their hobby.

Depending on the number of participants, choice of boat and periods, this trip is available from 1.495,- euro per person excluding flight for 6 days of fishing. This includes: local transport, private fishing charter, hotel with double rooms, lunches including water and softdrinks on the boat, harbour fees, fishing licences, local taxes etc.

Additional costs are depending on your choice of accommodation additional breakfast and or dinner with additional drinks, flight ticket and tips for the crew. Also about € 30,- per person for a visum that can be ordered online easily. The visum should be ordered at least 7 days before arrival.
