This group trip is to the destination of OscarBrygga. HJ has been there before and this is where the idea for this group trip originated. The location offers several apartments, and double rooms as well as semi-detached holiday homes located right on the waterfront with stunning sea views. There are also well-equipped aluminium fishing boats of various sizes and the fishing area is known for its large coalfish, pollock, cod, haddock and halibut. This is a truly original fishing location as they are meant to be in Norway. Call it old skool, call it charm, it is authentic because you are not going to find 100 guests or 20 boats here. At this location you will unwind and chances are you will only meet other people or fishermen after you get back from a nice day of fishing.
As the son of a professional fisherman, the owner Magnus knows the region like the back of his hand and is happy to provide us with additional information and actual hotspots. He has been running this destination for more than 25 years and is very proud of his business. And with good reason, because this is a real traditional fishing location as they are meant to be in Norway. Personal, good accommodation and top fishing. It doesn't get any better than this! And did we mention the stunning surroundings and phenomenal views?
Three weeks is not enough to fish all the spots here. The large group of islands directly off the coast provide shelter in case of less favourable weather but also to the many species of fish you can find here. In the local surroundings within 20 miles, depths vary from 1 to over 400 metres. You can imagine that during the tidal periods the fish are hunting in packs in these areas.
The abundant underwater structures make this a perfect spot to fish for pollock, cod, coalfish, ling, tusk, haddock, halibut and so on with light tackle. Around every corner of every island there is already a new hotspot waiting. And the distances between fishing spots are not too far apart and since there are few to no other fishing camps in the area and commercial fishermen do not come here due to the shallows, the fishing pressure here is low.
