This beautiful old farmhouse has been owned by the same proud family for over 400 years. To be precise, since 1583 and more than 15 generations, this is a perfect place to live, work and recreate. It is close to the sea, there is forest and the land is fertile. Traditionally the land was worked for farming but the holiday homes moved in in 2003. No less than 11 holiday homes were built at that time and since then they have been rented out to enthusiasts.

Svalemåla is located in the middle of the Blekinge region between Ronneby and Karlshamn. Bräkne-Hoby is 8 kilometres away and is the nearest village where you can do some good shopping. There is a supermarket, two restaurants, a pizzeria, ATM and petrol station. A pharmacy, bank and other things you will find in the larger Ronneby 20 kilometres away.

Hidden in a small birch forest are the Svalemåla holiday homes just 300 meters from the coast with a beautiful view of the old fishing village Gyon with top fishing locations in the heart of the Swedish archipelago. This beautiful and quiet environment with untouched nature is ideal for fishing or otherwise enjoying nature. Even from the sauna and hot tub you have a magnificent view over Järnavik's archipelago.

The archipelago of Järnavik and Blekinge are known for their good pike fishing. Here you will find many large pike but also several other species such as perch, salmon and sea trout. Many guests return every year because of the combination of fishing, nature and accommodation. The varied coastline with rock formations, shallow bays and deeper spots are perfect for active fishing. The main fishing is casting and trolling is done mainly on deeper water and focused on salmon.

Popular spots for pike fishing are the bay of Järnavik and surroundings including around the islands of Bjärnö, Tjärö and Tärnö and also the area around Eriksberg which is a nature reserve. Further out to sea you can fish for sea trout and cod. If you prefer to fish on running water, the rivers Bräkneån and Vierydsån are just a few kilometres away and are perfect spots for salmon and sea trout. A separate permit is required for this. The fishing requires lures, spinners, jerk baits, shads, natural bait (live is allowed) and fly fishing. The beauty of the Swedish pike is that they fight structurally harder than the average pike. You do not need a permit to fish here. If you want to fish for salmon or sea trout in the local rivers you need a permit. You can order these in advance through us.

As with most locations in Sweden, April, May and June are the good pike months along with September, October and early November. The migrating salmon is best caught from August to mid September and the rivers are open for fishing from the first of March. For trolling salmon and sea trout in the archipelago, April to mid-June is the best period.
