Hamn means harbour and that's exactly what this location is. It is a former fishing harbour (1880) that has been fully restored and is now an absolute top location for visitors. High quality boats, apartments and service in one of the most beautiful areas of Norway. It is located on the island of Senja, which is Norway's second largest island in terms of size and lies at 69 degrees North latitude. It lies north of the Lofoten. From autumn onwards you have a good chance to see the Northern Lights and there are many activities to do here. Cycling, hiking, climbing, whale watching, skiing and of course FISHING!
Hamn offers you a unique experience that you will not forget easily. The nature and the location itself are truly overwhelming. In October 2014 the Lonely Planet designated this region as the 5th best location in the world to visit. This is without any doubt the best accommodation in this region!
The location has high quality accommodation options and excellent boats. The apartments are almost new, there is a restaurant, a bar, an outdoor hot tub and they can accommodate up to 130 people. It is a location that has a lot to offer. For us anglers, the apartments are the most important.

The fishing area here is actually even better than the accommodation and fishing boats together. There are several plateaus and shallows that make fishing here unbeatable. Without any effort you go from 10 to 50 to 300 meters and all that within 10 minutes sailing. And if there is still some wind you can also fish in the sheltered fjord on the east side. Senja is one of the richest fishing grounds in Norway and the archipelago of islands makes it a true feast for the eye but also for the fish. Turquoise waters and snow-white beaches can be found here.
Cod, halibut, coalfish, wolffish are all common here, but how about plaice up to 2.5 kilos on the sandbanks? With light material, that's a great sport. At short sailing distances from the harbour you'll find a large number of fishing grounds. And as in most places in Norway, it is also possible to fish for trout inland in the local lakes. You will have to buy the right permit, but you can get it on the spot for a small surcharge.
There are several accommodation options:

Breakfast is included in all apartments.
Directly at the harbour there is also a sheltered filleting area and there is also a small angling shop for the most important fishing materials in case you have lost a little too much. Upon arrival you will receive a personal instruction of the boat, use of the facilities etc so that you know at all times what to do and where to find the necessities. A freezer of at least 150 litres is available for each boat. The nearest supermarket is 11 km away in Gryllefjord and during the summer period there is also a small supermarket open on site.
The fishing boats are in line with the quality of the apartments. You have access to 22 feet Kvaerno aluminum boats with 115 / 130 HP Evinrude engines. The boats are standard equipped with fishfinder and GPS (Garmin 521S), offer 10 rod holders and life jackets are on board. It is a more than average boat that combines sailing pleasure, safety and fishing comfort. These are really top boats! The gasoline is refuelled in the own harbour and must be paid on the spot. This can be done by credit card or cash.
