Sheltered, topboats and great fishingarea

Centrally located between the islands of Vannøya, Arnøya, Sørøya and also the Lyngen and Kvænagenfjord, this location Skjervoy is a perfect and very strategic location for fishing. Take a look at the sea maps with the different depths, platforms, reefs and drop offs. Here you will not have enough time to fish all the top spots. Too bad of course, but then you can either book two weeks or come back the year after. Because whether you are looking for wolffish, cod, halibut or coalfish here, chances are big that you can make your fishing dream come true.

An important factor for this is the sheltered situation of this location so that we have relatively few lost days due to the weather. This also makes it a perfect location for skrei fishing, which is optimal in March and April. But of course also for the halibut if you consider the end of the season from August to October. In total this location has 5 houses and 8 apartments close to the village of Skjervoy with approximately 2000 inhabitants. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge so you are not dependent on a ferry and can arrive or depart at any time you want.
Why sail far if the good spots are also close by. Immediately after you leave the port of Skjervoy you are in a true mecca for fishermen. There are few locations in Northern Norway that have similar potential in terms of fishing. Three currents come together here: the Lyngenfjord, the Kvaenangen fjord and the Reisafjord. These fjords carry a lot of food on the tide at the end of the fjord. When you consider that three fjords flow out at this location it is clear that there is a lot of food and therefore also fish. This puts Skjervoy on pole position to deliver large catches.

Spildra is an island that is situated at 12 miles from the harbour. Around this island there is an enormous amount of hotspots. The varied structure produces a lot of currents, making this a perfect spot for cod and coalfish. In the past, several halibut from above two meters have been caught and released here as well. Just around the corner northwest of Skjervoy are two very good wolffish areas. These are the Mauresund and the Rotsund, which in the period from April to the end of June provide excellent wolffish catches here. In addition to the wolffish, large halibut is also caught here with great regularity.

The Skjervoy fishing camp is fully equipped for sea fishermen. The service part is well taken care of with a spacious filleting area and a drying area where the automatic life jackets are also available. In addition, there is plenty of space to store your angling equipment. There is also a large freezer room and a separate room for the petrol stock. The boats are located right next to each other so everything is located close to each other.

The local bank and supermarket are 1.5 kilometres away and the camp is embedded in an impressive natural environment. Add to that the midnight sun, possibly northern lights later in the season, snow-capped mountain peaks, sea eagles and dolphins and sometimes even whales that appear around your boat. And then a big halibut on the line and the picture is complete!
